JA Meda Fellows Program is a partnership between Junior Achievement (JA) and Metropolitan Economic Development Association (Meda) to develop young minority entrepreneurs. The two organizations launched this after-school pilot program in 2017 at Patrick Henry High School in Minneapolis. Using JA curriculum and mentoring from successful Meda entrepreneurs, students learned how to start their own business, explored different careers, and obtained a paid summer internship. The program was such a success with teachers, business mentors, and students that we added a St. Paul cohort in 2018 at Humboldt High School.
