MINNEAPOLIS, Minn – JPMorgan Chase and Meda are pleased to announce that UnderRecruited Preps has been awarded the $20,000 prize as the Most Innovative Minority Entrepreneur in the MN Cup competition. UnderRecruited Preps was started in 2015 by Francis Kanneh and now has 6,000 student athletes. Kanneh himself was recruited by a Division 1 school for football, where he played as a student athlete, and he saw an opening to explain the complicated process to younger athletes entering high school. Kanneh and UnderRecruited Preps impressed the judges with their technology, rapid growth and business success. Kanneh explained to the judges how winning this $20,000 prize would help him expand his staffing and add additional technology.
“UnderRecruited Preps did a wonderful job presenting their business case and JPMorgan Chase is thrilled to be a part of this award and Meda’s overall program,” said Patrick Mahoney, Managing Director for J.P. Morgan. “It’s great to help Francis and his organization start on their path to long term success. When small businesses succeed, our communities and neighborhoods succeed.”
