Operated by Meda
The Minneapolis MBDA Business Center is a part of a nation-wide network of thirty-nine centers. Two MBDA Business Centers are operated by Meda, a premier organization that has been dedicated to the development of Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs) for over 40 years. These MBDA Business Centers are a part of the only federal agency created specifically to foster the growth of minority owned businesses in America.
The Minneapolis MBDA Business Center’s mission is to strengthen the U.S. economy by helping ethnic minority businesses create or retain jobs, and build economically vibrant socially responsible entrepreneurs, businesses, and communities. The focus of these centers is well aligned and consistent with Meda’s mission of ‘helping entrepreneurs of color succeed.
An inter-generational legacy is what Tony Martinez created when he started Martinez Mapping and Engineering back in the 70s. He received Meda’s MBDA Business Center support and ongoing encouragement. In order to successfully transition the leadership and ownership of the now Martinez Geospatial, Tony returned for assistance. Passing down a family business is an extraordinary feat but with Meda’s MBDA Business Center help, son Steve Martinez will take the reigns of the company. Steve will start a new generation of high tech geospatial planning, photogrammetry and orthophotography services to public and private sector clients nationwide, including architects, engineers, planners, lawyers, and facility management/maintenance companies.
