MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The Metropolitan Economic Development Association (Meda) has announced the appointment of Joanna Ramirez Barrett, Ph.D., as the Vice President of Business Solutions.
As the Vice President of Business Solutions, Dr. Ramirez Barrett will be responsible for oversight of all organization-wide programs. She will evaluate services and solutions being offered and develop new approaches to meet the needs of Meda customers.
“Joanna comes to us with a wealth of experience, specifically in the areas of program evaluation, internal operations and change management. She will add significant value as Meda implements its new strategic framework to expand it programs,” said Gary L. Cunningham, Meda President and CEO.
Dr. Ramirez Barrett has a rich and diverse background in leading organizational redesign and comes with more than 10 years of experience as a Program and Evaluation Director. In these roles, she guided change and utilized best practices to improve program outcomes and organizational effectiveness. She has provided leadership and expertise in operations and evaluation to address the complex issues that impact minority entrepreneurs. In addition to her work in program evaluation, management and operations, Dr. Ramirez Barrett examined racial disparities in various systems from health care to criminal justice. In this work, Dr. Ramirez Barrett worked directly with non-profits and governmental organizations to implement solutions to address racial inequalities.
