Elise Hernandez initially approached Meda through the Procurement Technical Assistance Center (MN PTAC) where she found assistance in pursuing government contracting.
From a start-up in her home in 1997, ISSI has become an industry leader in the design and implementations of custom IT solutions to support government, education and commercial organizations nationwide. The company provides its clients with business-driven enterprise solutions, infrastructure management and professional services. ISSI counts as its clients the Departments of Defense, Energy, Agriculture and Veterans Affairs, the Secret Service and the Federal Aviation Administration, among many others.
Three years ago, Elise became a Meda Pacesetter where minority-owned firms are provided intensive assistance for strategic growth. Elise accessed Meda’s entire portfolio of services, specifically financial planning and analysis, new financing instruments, risk management, certification and additional government contracting. Elise has maintained a 12% growth rate over the past five years as well as consistent profitability.
Elise mentors future entrepreneurs through the University of Minnesota Growth Accelerator Program, Entrepreneurship Club and SmallBiz Program. She has also been active in promoting economic activity and job creation in the Pequot Lakes/Brainerd area of
