Another Meda-assisted business start, St. Paul Clinic, held its grand opening on May 29th. With financing from The St. Paul Foundation’s East Metro Job Creation Fund, Meda was able to help Pa Foua Yang open a family practice and OB/GYN clinic at 301 University Avenue in St. Paul. The clinic will provide primary care, with a focus on women’s health and gynecologic surgery to the diverse communities in the Twin Cities, particularly Hmong, Southeast Asian and African populations.
Dr. Yang is one of only two Hmong female OB/GYN doctors in the country. After leaving Mayo Clinic, she and her husband, Ky Fang, armed with a Ph.D in Pharmacology, decided to open a clinic in the heart of their community. Located on the Green Line, near the Western Station, St. Paul Clinic houses this culturally sensitive practice and will soon be joined by Dr. Fang’s pharmacy in the near future.
