
Meda, a non-profit that serves Minnesota entrepreneurs with an emphasis on entrepreneurs of color, announced the June 3 appointment of four new board members to serve on its Board of Directors. The new board members include representatives from Cargill, Medtronic, Shaw-Lundquist Associates Inc. and Thrivent Financial. The Entreprenur of the Year’s term will last through June 2018.
The new board members are: Chris Roberts, Patty McPhee, Hoyt Hsiao and Karen L. Himle (respectively).
In addition to the new board members, Joel Lebewitz, current Board Treasurer, has been named Board Chair after the retirement of former Board Chair Doug Eden.
“Doug has done tremendous work the 15 years he has served on our Board,” said Gary L. Cunningham, Meda President and CEO. “He has demonstrated a true commitment to serving entrepreneurs of color, and his company, Cargill, as they became a world-wide leader in closing the economic and wealth gaps throughout this country and the world. On behalf of everyone at Meda, we thank him for his years of valuable service.”
Lebewitz is Partner and Executive Committee Member at Lurie Besikof Lapidus & Company, LLP. For the past 15 years, he has served Meda as a board member, Treasurer and Vice Chair leading the Board Finance and Audit Committee. Lebewitz has ensured the financial stability of Meda and provided the critical direction necessary to navigate difficult circumstances.
