Job Summary:
The Business Development Coordinator (BDC) will meet with and prospect BIPOC entrepreneurs with the goal of helping them understand the power of working with MEDA. The BDC is responsible for making great first impressions with potential clients. All new leads and referrals will be introduced to the Director of Consulting Services so that they can ensure that they are a good fit for the company, and communicate the unique capabilities and outcomes that MEDA delivers.
The BDC is both a filter that saves the company from taking on misfit clients and a magnet that will attract perfect-fit clients for years to come. The BDC develops and maintains successful business relationships while consistently assessing potential opportunities within its geographic market area. This will involve communication through phone and in-person visits while documenting interactions in the Salesforce CRM system.
The BDC’s primary responsibility is sourcing new business through referral relationships that they establish via their own efforts. The secondary responsibility is client retention.
Essential Functions:
Collaboration
Collaborate with the Marketing, Lending, and Supplier Development teams to facilitate the smooth and orderly evaluation of prospective business partners.
Contacting and engaging with prospects. i.e., decision-makers, and influencers. Turning influencers into advocates of the Meda platform and leveraging those advocates to influence decision-makers to sign up for our service.
Lead Development
Develop leads on his/her own; convert leads generated by Supplier Development, Lending, and the Advancement team. Increase Meda brand awareness.
Identify emerging markets/market shifts while being aware of new services and competition.
Build relationships with prospects and nurture them to create new partnership opportunities
Visit potential clients and sell our services. Also handles incoming customer inquiries.
Risk Analysis
Serves as the point person in determining the prospect's needs and meeting them through the seamless delivery of MEDA's lending and consulting services.
Possesses proficiency in credit fundamentals and can determine the appropriate risks on new and prospective customers so that all relationships are in alignment with MEDA’s risk profile.
Research prospective customers’ businesses to gain an understanding of how MEDA can add value prior to contacting them.
Execute outbound strategy and continuously develop new relationships with key partners
Develop and maintain an understanding of customers, competitors, and marketplace dynamics.
Customer Services/Relationship Building
· Provide consulting services to BIPOC business owners around best business practices.
Perform high-level business development activities, including meeting 1:1 with potential customers and managing the process for engagement.
Consistently meeting or exceeding prospect contact and engagement KPIs volume
Will be working in the field a minimum of one to two days per week, more when required.
Building and promoting strong, long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs, and showing how our service meets and exceeds those needs.
Administration
Consistently updating all relevant notes and information into Salesforce (meeting outcome).
Planning and executing your workday/week/month to ensure you have a plan for activity.
Performs independent sales process with prospective clients.
Continually searches for new referral sources to further expand MEDA’s referral network. Said referral sources are required to be loaded into Salesforce.
KPI’s
· Contribute to clients’ employee 10% growth new and retain
· Participation in gross revenue contracts generating $50,000,000
· 30 New (high growth) client prospecting
· Contribute to 10 clients’ capacity-building engagements
· 30 Loan referrals
· Demonstrate Business Recovery and/or Re-tooling activities (survey)
· Utilization and Skills development tracked thru the VAN Knowledge Library
· Growth wheel methodology used in all new clients
· 10% overall Client Sales growth
· 8 Mergers/Acquisition participation
· 18 RFP Wins / Access to bids on new contracts-
· Customer satisfaction 80% (quarterly surveys)
· Clients served 75
· Client impact hours 1,200
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, or another related field.
Three years of experience in business development/consulting with a proven record of success.
Ability to analyze and interpret financial statements and other business data.
High level of cultural sensitivity. Minimum 5 years of experience in multi-cultural organization
MUST have a can do, will do, whatever it takes, team attitude.
MUST be tech savvy. MUST be highly efficient using software applications.
Strong sales aptitude with proven closing skills
Must have the business acumen to communicate with a wide variety of stake holders, from small business owners to executives of large enterprise corporations.
Experience in direct calling on prospects and centers of influence.
Advanced sales, negotiation, and communication skills required.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions
Ability to quickly set priorities and develop practical plans.
Strong interpersonal skills, excellent oral, written, and verbal communications skills.
Preferred:
MBA degree.
Knowledge and experience in salesforce.com environment
Knowledge of various lending products and guidelines (commercial business)

Salary Range $64,000-$85,000 DOE
