Coordinator Supplier Development

The primary responsibilities of a Supplier Diversity Coordinator are to facilitate and implement Diversity programs for the project including MWSBE participation, Workforce Development, and Mentor/Protégé relationships. The Associate will work directly with both internal and external team members to meet or exceed the goals of all programs.

Essential Functions:

Supply Chain Management

• Organizes, tracks, and communicates Supplier Diversity Program data, key performance indicators, and insights.

• Monitor and document annual supplier diversity goals of existing and potential corporate partners (Anchors)

• Coordinate client participants in the Ascend cohort and organize University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management curriculum.

• Support Director of Supplier Development in auditing and evaluating Anchor institution’s ability to meet or exceed Supplier Diversity goals.

• Support Director of Supplier Development in acquiring quarterly data from Ascend anchors and tracking progress.

• Organize contact information for Anchor institutions including executives, middle managers, procurement category managers, and facilities project managers.

• Develop and support partnerships with local organizations and the subcontractor community from start to finish, providing strategic guidance and task-oriented assistance to ensure success.

• Collaborate with consultants and clients to track, measure, report, and evaluate client contractual obligations.

• Identify qualified prospective diverse suppliers and facilitate introductory discussions with project team.

• Manage and support internal Supplier Diversity events including event focus, logistics, and marketing.

• Attend community events related to economic development and procurement.

• Schedule regular Ascend meetings, including logistics for travel and budget.

• Remain current with economic trends such as industry clusters, emerging industries, employment, legislative actions, etc.

• Assist project team with collecting data, maintaining spreadsheets, meeting agendas, and representing Holder Supplier Diversity and Workforce Development programs in meetings.

• Coordinate input and review of data in various software programs and systems.

• Meet with Workforce Development hires and MWSBE subcontractors monthly, to establish open communication, remove barriers, and open dialogue.

• Assist with review of data and preparation of reports/deliverables

• Track pending items and conduct meetings with team members to review progress.

Qualifications:

Required:

·       0-3 Years of experience in a related field

·       Bachelor’s Degree in business from an accredited institution or equivalent work experience

·       Knowledge of entrepreneurship, business planning, business management and business development practices, procurement, equity, diversity & inclusion, and supplier diversity;

·       Knowledge and understanding of a matrix environment with strong organization skills

·       Ability to work independently and prioritize work assignments while working effectively.

·       Strong communication and interpersonal skills to influence and work effectively with all levels with the organization.

·       Ability to prioritize and manage workload effectively and communicate when help is needed

·       Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

·       Agile and thrives in a fast-paced & changing environment​.

Physical Requirements:

This job operates in an office setting and is primarily a sedentary role.  Travel is primarily local; however, some overnight travel may be expected.   Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
