A MESSAGE FROM OUR CEO
DOROTHY BRIDGES

Dear
Friends

As we gather for MEDA’s 2023 Annual Meeting, I am both encouraged and energized by the journey that we've embarked upon together. Indeed, "The Time is Now!" This is our rallying call for this year, not just because it encapsulates our collective urgency and purpose, but because it is a testament to our mission to empower and uplift BIPOC Entrepreneurs in the Twin Cities and greater Minnesota. Your ambitions fuel our purpose and affirm our commitment to building a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive economic landscape here in the North Star State.

So again, let me reiterate: The Time Is Now

The Time Is Now to seize the opportunities that lie before us. To let your businesses flourish. And, to contribute to a vibrant, diverse economy. The Time Is Now to show the world the strength and potential of BIPOC entrepreneurship. In the coming years, MEDA aims to deploy more than $400 million to support BIPOC Entrepreneurs. But this investment extends beyond numbers. It is manifested in our deep-seated belief in all of you, in your dreams, and in your potential to change the world. We see your spirit, resilience, and determination. And, you inspire us all.

I’d like to encourage each of you to join us in spreading the word about MEDA. To become ambassadors for this organization and to share your experiences with other BIPOC Entrepreneurs as well as those who are looking to begin their entrepreneurial journey. In doing so, we not only build individual businesses, but a wider business community that is mutually supportive and profoundly resilient.

And remember, MEDA is here, standing with you every step of the way.

On behalf of our Board of Directors, our staff, and our volunteers, I want to express our collective and heartfelt gratitude. Your support and partnership in advancing MEDA’s mission for over the past half-century have been invaluable. Together, we'll continue to nurture BIPOC entrepreneurship and create a more equitable, inclusive, and prosperous economy for all that call Minnesota home.

Sincerely,
Dorothy Bridges
