The Senior Accountant supports the internal financial functions of MEDA.  Because of the importance of our mission, the nature of our work, and the needs of our clients, the Senior Accountant must have the ability to work independently, to prioritize work, and complete required tasks in a timely manner. 

The Senior Account is a financial business partner role performing the day-to-day general accounting and reporting for the organization. The role includes supporting the preparation of the monthly, annual, and other periodic internal and external financial statements as well as projects to improve processes and create efficiencies. The Senior Accountant must be able to maintain client confidentiality in accordance with state and federal guidelines and HIPAA requirements.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field

  • Minimum five years of Accounting/Finance experience

  • Significant knowledge of and the ability to apply GAAP, FASB and IRS rules and regulations

  • Significant technical expertise in non-profit accounting

  • Excellent collaborator and team contributor

  • Excellent communication, customer service, and management skills

  • Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills

  • Accurate with strong attention to detail

  • Ability to learn and adapt to changing environment

  • Proven advanced Excel skills, proficiency in MS Office products and non-profit accounting software

Preferred:

  • Advanced Degree in Accounting or related field

  • CPA or equivalent

  • Non-profit experience preferred

  • Proficiency in use of computers, computer accounting software, and tax software programs


Physical Requirements:

Salary Range $73,000-$85,000 DOE
