The Vice President/Chief Human Resources Officer (VP/CHRO) is responsible for leading the people and talent development within the organization. This position will drive performance through talent & strategy development to position MEDA as the employer of choice. The VP/CHRO ensures that the necessary employee policies and practices are in place to ensure legal and ethical compliance. They are a champion of our Team Culture while responsible for overall operational efficiency and effectiveness, including facilities management, office and contract administration, risk management. The VP/CHRO serves as the liaison with the Board of Directors and is a member of the Executive Leadership.

The Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) will serve as a critical member of MEDA’s Executive Leadership team. This position is crucial to the growth and success of our organization. The CHRO will be accountable for all aspects of the Human Resources function, serve as a trusted advisor and coach to the executive leaders and CEO and help advance the mission of the organization. The CHRO ensures that the necessary employee policies and practices are in place to promote a strong organizational culture, have inclusive and equitable practices plus ensure legal and ethical compliance. The successful candidate is a fierce champion of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion and will be a champion of our organizational culture.

The CHRO is responsible for leading and executing MEDA’s talent strategies by leveraging recruiting, talent, learning and development, retention, engagement, and organizational development strategies.

Essential Functions:

  • Executive Leadership within MEDA:

    • Act as the liaison to the Board of Directors, working with the President and CEO in the development and finalization of Board Meeting agendas and new Board member onboarding. Work with the Executive Assistant to the President and CEO in preparation of Board Meeting Materials and the annual Board and Committee Meeting calendar. Serve as the staff leader with the Governance Committee of the Board.

  • Broad HR Oversight:

    • Responsible for overall human capital and talent development strategy and implementation, including management of recruitment, compensation, employee benefits, employee relations, payroll, professional development program, and performance management. Lead and influence the talent development process and succession planning.

    • Enhance HR policies and procedures that will improve overall organizational effectiveness

    • Develop and manage the department budget.

  • Performance Management and Compensation:

    • Develop the connection between organizational objectives, individual roles, job descriptions, and incentive plans.

    • Establish and monitor compliance for Organizational Incentives

    • In partnership with CFO and CEO, determine feasibility and funding for program and rewards

  • Diversity, Equity & Inclusion:

    • As a business executive, champion the establishment and sustainable business practices that foster D, E&I

    • Ensure employee policies and practices foster a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion across the entire organization.

  • Organizational Design, Development and Change Leadership: accountable for leading an organizational design (re-design) and the plan to implement based on the strategic focus of the organization, noting the change management needed and related employee considerations.

    • Enhance organizational culture that advances our goals and employee experience.

  • Comfort in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment

  • Chair the 403 b Advisory Committee.

  • Benefits & Insurance; direct the purchase of insurance programs; manage claims and loss control activities; manage relationships with third-party service providers, including brokers and insurers; identify exposure and recommend solutions; and maintain safety/risk guidelines and documents.

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Organizational Development, Psychology, or related field.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior leadership role with a history of increasing responsibilities and a proven record of success.

  • Proven ability to be a trusted business partner and leader with C-suite executives

  • Experience managing all aspects of human resources including recruitment, compensation, benefits, employee relations, and talent development.

  • Experience in organization development and a track record of successfully facilitating organizational change.

  • Previous experience working with Boards of Directors.

  • Proven ability to develop plans & objectives that impact long-term performance growth.

  • Agile and thrives in fast-paced & changing environments.

Preferred:

  • MBA degree.

  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly desired.


Physical Requirements:

This job operates in an office setting and is primarily a sedentary role.  Travel is primarily local; however, some overnight travel may be expected.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.


Compensation

Pay range is $110,000- $130,000 DOQ. Meda employees enjoy fully paid medical and dental insurance, a 403b retirement plan, generous Paid Time Off, 15 1⁄2 holidays each year, and a flexible work environment among other benefits.
