Building Beyond Labels: How IT Minnesota is Helping Businesses Thrive

IT Minnesota
For Michael and Braxtin Liddell, entrepreneurship is about more than technology – it’s about creating opportunities, building trust, and helping small businesses thrive.
As partners in life and business, they recently launched their company as IT Minnesota, a managed IT services firm that serves small and medium-sized business. Their mission is to provide enterprise-level technology solutions with the personalized support and transparency that small businesses deserve.
With more than 25 years of experience in the technology industry, Michael has worked in a variety of managed services roles across the technology industry. Along the way, he saw a recurring challenge: small and medium-sized businesses often lacked access to the same quality technology and support available to larger organizations.
"We understand what it's like to be a small business," said Michael. "Many of our clients are trying to grow, take care of their employees, and navigate constant change. We want to make sure they have affordable, flexible IT solutions to help them succeed."
The idea is simple but powerful: be a one-stop-shop for any technology need, helping businesses eliminate the headaches that come with juggling multiple vendors. Along with their growing team, Michael and Braxtin are building a company designed to create a lasting impact.
“Our focus is supporting small businesses so they can succeed,” said Braxtin. “Our goal is to elevate people and create opportunities.”
That commitment stems from their firsthand understanding of the challenges many small business owners face. By providing affordable, flexible technology solutions, IT Minnesota helps businesses access the tools and support they need to grow with confidence.
Today, IT Minnesota is entering a new chapter with a refreshed brand and a clear vision for the future. Their entrepreneurial journey has been fueled by a desire to build something lasting for future generations.
“I want to leave something behind and build a business that people can rely on and count on for years to come,” Michael said.
As they worked to formalize and scale their business, they connected with MEDA through a professional referral. Working alongside a MEDA business consultant, they’ve implemented tools such as EOS Business Operating System and Level 10 meetings to strengthen operations and improve communication and accountability across their team. The work has already shifted how they see their business’s potential.
“MEDA has helped us understand our value and build the structure we need to grow,” Michael said.
As a Black and LGBTQ+-owned business, representation matters to them. But more than labels, what drives them is a commitment to doing good work, treating people right, and helping other businesses succeed.
For the Liddells, IT Minnesota is more than a company – it’s a legacy in the making. One built on resilience, purpose, and the belief that if you help others succeed, entire communities benefit.
